From my friends at Digital Transitions - Check them out HERE
Our friends at BREED recently sat down with our own Ken Scott at our West Coast Culver City location to discuss the nuances of Medium Format Digital, address some of the confusion and shed light on how easy it is now to start creating work on a digital medium format system.
Watch our video below to learn more about the current state of Medium Format Digital.
Jeff and I will be doing this as a project this week and posting images and article related to the photo shoot..... Standby
Herb! Looking at this video and reading this old article.....So just for fun lets do a Digital Back Medium Format comparison to a Film Medium Format?
With the film being scanned of course (variable I know.) But with the same light setup and lights with the same post editing software being used? And of course we are not comparing the time it takes to produce a print, since the film will need to be developed.
And maybe we can do this with the same lens focal length? So a PhaseOne Digital Medium Format capture, compared to a Mamiya 645AF capture?
So lets pick two models to shoot on both cameras, my first model selection would be Kyla. Who do you want to shoot that day?
So the film I select is Portra 160 for this test, so a color image. We will compare a total of four final "Prints" in this comparison, same size. Lets pick something greater than a 11x14?
Let's plan this! :)
Shot of Sheila J. on 03/03/2016 with a Mamiya 645AF, TMax 400 film developed by The Darkroom, and scanned with a Scanmaker i900 by Microtek using silverfast software, then post editing with PScc.
